Privacy policy

This notice explains how Apple Autotech Sdn. Bhd. ("we", "us"), the operator of this website and an authorized Omoda | Jaecoo dealer, handles the personal data you share with us. It is issued under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA) and is available in English and Bahasa Malaysia. By sending us your details, you agree to this notice.

What we collect

• Details you type into the test-drive form: your name, mobile number, email address (optional), the model you are interested in and your message.
• Anything you send us on WhatsApp, including your WhatsApp number and profile name.
• The test-drive form is protected against spam by Cloudflare Turnstile, which runs an invisible check in your browser and may process your IP address and browser signals for that purpose. See Cloudflare's Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
• How you found us: when you arrive from an advert or a link, a small first-party cookie (jbj_attr) stores the campaign tags in the address (utm parameters, gclid, fbclid), the page you landed on, the referring site and a short reference code, for 30 days. It contains no name or contact details.
• Technical logs kept by our hosting provider, Cloudflare: IP address, browser type, pages requested and timestamps, used for security and to keep the site running.
• If website analytics (Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager) is enabled, Google may set its own cookies to measure visits. See "Cookies and analytics" below.

We do not collect payment card details, identity card numbers or driving licence numbers through this website.

Why we use it

• To arrange and confirm your test drive and reply to your enquiry.
• To prepare a quotation, financing estimate or trade-in valuation that you have asked for.
• To keep a record of enquiries so we can follow up and serve you better.
• To understand which advertisements and channels bring customers to us (the reference code is matched to your enquiry).
• To comply with legal obligations and to protect against fraud and misuse of the website.

We use your details for these purposes only. We will not send you marketing messages unless you have agreed to receive them, and you can opt out at any time by telling us on WhatsApp.

Who we share it with

• Banks and finance companies, insurers and the vehicle distributor (Omoda | Jaecoo Malaysia), only when needed to process a loan, insurance, booking or warranty request that you have made.
• Service providers that run the website for us: Cloudflare (hosting, security and the database that stores enquiries) and Google, if analytics is enabled. Their servers may be located outside Malaysia; we use providers that protect data to a standard comparable to the PDPA.
• Meta Platforms, through WhatsApp, when you message us. WhatsApp's own privacy policy applies to that conversation.
• Authorities, where the law requires it.

We do not sell or rent your personal data.

Cookies and analytics

The website sets one first-party cookie (jbj_attr, 30 days), described above. It tells us which advert brought you here and cannot identify you on its own. If Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager is active, Google sets analytics cookies that measure visits across sessions; you can block these in your browser settings or with an ad blocker and the site will work normally.

How long we keep it

Test-drive enquiries and WhatsApp conversations are kept for as long as needed to serve you and for up to 24 months after our last contact. If a purchase follows, the details become part of the vehicle sale records kept under company and tax law. Attribution cookies expire after 30 days. Hosting logs are kept by Cloudflare for a short period for security.

Your rights

Under the PDPA you may ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, withdraw your consent to further processing, and ask us to stop using it for marketing. To do so, message us on WhatsApp at the number shown above or write to the showroom address. We may ask you to confirm your identity first and will respond within 21 days. If you withdraw consent, we may no longer be able to arrange your test drive or follow up on your enquiry.

Security

Enquiries are transmitted over HTTPS and stored in an access-controlled database that only staff handling sales enquiries can see. No system is completely secure, so please do not send sensitive information such as identity card copies or bank details through the website; we will tell you the safe way to share documents when they are needed.

Children

This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice when the website or our services change. The date at the top shows the latest version. Continued use of the website after a change means you accept the updated notice.
